The mission of the festival is to popularize digital art and decentralize culture through digital technologies.

The event, designed to rethink the concept of public art as art in the urban environment, brought together young artists who expressed their reasoning on the topic of the city, the place of technology and people in it, in the format of augmented reality.

Artists-team:

  • Yan Posadsky, Vadim Epstein
  • Anna Tagantseva-Kobzeva
  • Kirill Makarov
  • D-o-a (Anna Leonova and Sasha Puchkova)

WebAR technology is the most accessible for a wide audience of users: just click on the link to start the AR experience.
That is why we chose it to create such
a large-scale project.
No downloads or installs, here and now.

The technology is still new to the audience, so it was important for us to make
the site interface intuitive.
WHY WebAR?
The user's journey began with a map on which points with digital works were marked. We paid a lot of attention to the development of instructions, visual marks, so that the viewer feels comfortable throughout the journey and finds answers to all the questions that arise.
ART WALK
The festival was based on the idea of a quest. Participants traveled around the city, guided by points on the map. With the help of GPS coordinates, we laid down areas in which secret work appeared.

After completing the quest, the viewer received a reward —
a free ticket to one of the cultural institutions of their city.

Among the partners of the festival were museums and art spaces: MMOMA, Yeltsin Center, Strelka and others.
Artists studied monuments as authoritative images that organize public space. The art object was created by a neural network trained on a dataset from monuments of Russian cities.
A MONUMENT TO EVERYTHING
Yan Posadsky, Vadim Epstein
Visualisation of the most important bridge of all social interactions. Trust, as a type of relationship, is considered by the artist in the context of the city from the point of view of a person-subject who is inside a set of systems.
TRUST
Kirill Makarov
The art object draws a parallel between digital data transmitted using wireless technologies and plant pollen, which transmits knowledge about the species and its population.
POLLEN
Anna Tagantseva-Kobzeva
Digital poetry of familiar urban images. The D-o-a team looks at digital infrastructure through one of its most invisible manifestations: wires: electrical, transport, and Internet cables.
THE UNBEARABLE INFINITY OF BEING CONNECTED TO THE NETWORK
D-o-a (Sasha Puchkova, Anna Leonova)
